First: Congrats to my friend Lisa in Florida. She finished her first 1/2 marathon yesterday in 2 1/2 hours. And that was w/ sleet and snow in FLORIDA! WOO HOO LISA!
Moving on...So, for a long time I've struggled w/ the cold weather. But I have hypothyroidism so that was part of the condition. Well, last night at work I couldn't shake the cold. Then my hands turned white and painful. So, when I got home I showed Mark and he was like "oh, you have Raynauds' disease'. So, I went to the internet and sure enough it was exactly what I had! Who knew..... So, my workouts for the winters will definetly have to be indoors until the weather gets warmer!!! If you know anyone with Raynauds, hand them some gloves!!!!!! :)
I'll be going to the gym this afternoon to try those treadmill workouts. Last night I didn't do anything after work except warm up. But today will be day 6 of working out for the week (my weeks run Mon-Sun). So I guess Saturday was my 'rest day'..
Cloie: I still want to hear about kickboxing. How was it? Who teaches it? Date/Time of Class?
**If anyone is interested in trying a beginner level yoga class (for like old people and pregnant people) I want to go. It has to be at AFF though. Let me know.....

Went to the gym this morning, was frustrated that it now takes me 43 minutes to run 3.2 miles BUT I got on the scale and I have lost 3 pounds this week, HURRAY!!!! I was not very good on Friday night, but have stayed to my 1200 calories the rest of the weekend. Thank you guys for keeping me motivated,I guess the thought of all those kids scared me straight :)
ReplyDeleteThe Raynauds sucks. Sounds like something my cousin's son has.. I forget what it's called, but basically he's allergic to the cold.
ReplyDeleteWas gonna do yoga when we got home from our errands after church, but so far, football has ruled the day. I'll hit it between games. Emma says she wants to do it with me. Kathy - you may wanna try NAMASTE from FitTv. After fast-forwarding through commercials, it's probably only 21 or 22 minutes, but it's a good stretch and good for practicing balancing, which I prefer to do in my own home as opposed embarassing myself in public.
! ;->
Good for you going to the gym this a.m., Jen!
Congrats, Lisa!
Pam, yes, I am officially allergic to the cold. It does suck! Send your cousins son some gloves. He'll appreciate them. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI will look for Namaste on fit tv. Thanks for the heads up. We bough Wii fit to try and help w. balance and core. I'm going to try it tonight. Try to squeeze yoga in tonight, you'll feel better!
Jen, I don't think I could run 3.2 miles right now so be proud that you did it at all. The time will decrease as the weeks pass. Congrats on the 3 lbs. Are you doing Nutrisystems or just the 1200 calorie rule. I start tomorrow w. the calorie counting.
I did the Hill Drill today at the gym. I liked it! I changed the numbers a little higher though. I will definetly do this again later this week. It made the 30 minutes go by fast and I even ran the last 2 minutes for fun. I recommend trying it and adjusting the incline to your own level. Oh, I walked it this time. Thanks for keeping me motivated too. I could have easily stayed home but knew I commited to my virtual friends to do the interval training. See you all tomorrow!
Did yoga between the 2 games. Just the NAMASTE I record off FitTv. Let's just say it's interesting doing yoga at home with 3 kids & 3 dogs all trying to do it with you!
ReplyDeleteJust remembered... cold urticaria is what my cousin's son has. His body actually reacts to the cold like someone might to a bee sting... he can get hives, etc. but... fortunately they live in AL so it doesn't get THAT cold very often.
ReplyDeleteThe exercising I've been doing must be doing SOMETHING. My back has been achy, and this a.m., while laying in bed, I couldn't take a deep breath without my sides hurting. So... after some breakfast & hot tea, it's back on the elliptical for me. Already unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, "rotated the laundry" and started a new load, and cleaned the sink. So... those shouldn't be distractions for me.
