Woke up this morning w. a very tight hamstring and an obnoxious head cold! So, I talked myself into 'sucking it up' and went to the gym anyway. I did a very easy 20 minutes on the eliptical and a moderate 'butt buster' on the treadmill for 20 minutes. Then I went to Marks' work and he squeezed me in for some heat and a stretch! My hamstring feels better already. Thanks Honey!
Welcome back Cloie! I'm glad you had such a good time! Vacations are meant for taking a break. Even from exercise! One of Marks' co workers is 2 weeks into the P90X. She is really enjoying the challenge. I was thinking that it might be good to try it this summer when gym visits seem to go down!
My diet still isn't where it should be. Now that I have a cold do I feed it or starve it? My vote is eat. We'll see how it goes. Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteoh yeah, and I'm reading Open. so far, it's pretty entertaining...
ReplyDeleteSorry you're sick, Kathy. If it's what we've had, it goes away pretty quickly, so that's good news. We were each sick for about 2 days.
ReplyDeleteYEAH, Mark!!!
Well... I did another 35 minutes on the elliptical tonight. 4 of it backwards. Still not feeling the NEED to exercise, but definitely more dedicated. I actually asked Mike to take the kids to church tonight so I could stay here and get in time on the elliptical. In the past, taking them to church would have been a convenient excuse for not having time to exercise. So... a few more baby steps forward.
I've not changed my eating habits at all, but I have generally been chosing more healthy things lately. Don't get me wrong... that doesn't mean I didn't scarf down a handfull of chocolate chips y'day and 3 oreos, BUT... I'm grabbing an apple more often, etc. Just like with my limited exercising, it may not make BIG changes in my body, but it's got to be giving me SOME kind of benefit, and that's okay. I'm generally the kind of person that wants immediate gratification, so if I can just be o.k. with making baby steps and doing things I know are good for me, that's a success for me right now.
