Dear Mr. Gym,

Thank you for welcoming me back today. You cleared everyone out by 12:30 and I got pick of machines. I know I have not been a loyal friend. I tried another workout and left your equipment cold. I promise I can balance 2 workouts. I MUST!

I quickly was reminded how far I've fallen when I tried on my shorts yesterday and they were too small. Did I mention they were my FAT shorts. I am good at multi tasking in all areas of my life. Why must I leave you behind so often?

It's a new day, though. The sun shining and I'm feeling a little more devoted to you! So, hang in there! I promise to hang in there too! Our relationship is worth it!

Your frumpy friend,
Kathy Rau

  3. LOL! Good letter, Kathy! I'm gonna walk tomorrow. I'm able to breathe a little better than I have been. Not getting on the elliptical yet. Afraid of over-doing it too soon.

Jen - where did you get the JM 30-day shred?

  4. Oh ladies...where are you?? Day 2 of 30 Day Shred was tons easier then Day 1. Though I am wishing I was a guy, at least they can stand to pee :)

Today is a rest day for running, ran 2.5 miles both Monday and Tuesday.

Yay Pam for being able to breathe better :) I bought it at Target. It's a DVD, not sure if you have a burner or not, but you can "borrow" it if you like...wink wink! It's actually a great workout for only being 20 minutes. I had a trainer for awhile, and I felt the same after 20 minutes with Jillian as I did with an hour of my trainer. I can def. feel the burn!

  5. Jen - I'll be by later this week to give JM 30-day shred a try. I walked 2 miles today and didn't feel like I was going to die, so I guess I'm on the mend.

    Thanks!

  7. Walked 45 minutes downtown today and then spent about 40 minutes or so cutting the grass. I'm wiped. Waiting to not feel like a 300 pound woman who hasn't exercised in 10 years...

  8. cutting the grass? that HAS to be high on the calorie burning chart? good for you. you will feel good very soon. give it a day or...just look at your grass:o)

  9. Thanks, Cloie! According to http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-burned-mowing-lawn-a161, it's 306/hour cutting grass. I just wonder if that is on a flat surface or if that takes into account some hills. At any rate, that was 200 calories for me yesterday.

I just finished 25 minutes of yoga. If it weren't for my belly, I could bend a lot farther! And depending upon the yoga activity, that burns 170 - 230/hour. Even at 170, I burned 71 just this a.m.

  11. My new goal is to see how fat I can get, so that I can get on Biggest Loser and finally get to the size I want to be! Went to the gym this afternoon to weight myself in (only scale I've been using) and I have GAINED 4 pounds!!! How does that happen?? I have kept within my calorie limits, exercised everyday (in fact this weekend I spent almost 15 hours alone on yard work..my legs still hurt!) and I GAIN weight??? I quit....300 pounds here I come!!! :)

  12. Don't quit, Jen! Maybe it would help your outlook if you changed your mindset to wanting to be healthy instead of a mindset of wanting to lose weight? Just an idea. It's not worth the health problems that come with being lazy AND overweight.
